What’s unique about a RoomMate Cabin?
Jan 12, 2021
At RoomMate Cabins we build our cabins from the ground up, laying a solid foundation of honesty, respect and compassion.
Our business is about people – our customers, our staff, and our franchisees – so we put them first. And we do it from our home to yours!
We build our own
We make sure every RoomMate Cabin is built to perfection, providing you with the warmth, security, and safety that you expect when you rent a cabin for some extra space at your place.
Our cabins are built at full head height, with large windows to let in the light. They also feature modern LED lights, curtains, and carpeted floors. Outside there is a deck with overhang roof to protect from rain.
Our different cabin types have many of the same features, with size being the biggest variable: our standard cabins are 3.6m x 2.4m, while large cabins come in at 4.2m x 2.4m.
Low rise steps
RoomMate Cabins are built on skids attached to a steel base, not on wheels. This eliminates the need for a big step to get into the cabin, perfect for the elderly or mobility limited, and provides a more stable platform.
It also means our portable cabins are more manoeuvrable. They can be rotated and moved about on steel poles, enabling your talented RoomMate Cabin operators to get your cabin into tight and tricky places that other portable cabin providers cannot.
Insulation
Our RoomMate Cabins are insulated to a residential standard. The Batts in the walls and ceilings, as well as underfloor insulation, ensure a safe, warm, dry and cosy space at your place.
Not only does it protect you against the cold winter temperatures by keeping the heat in, but it also creates energy efficiencies and increases your comfort levels.
Smoke alarms
At RoomMate Cabins all our cabins are fitted with smoke alarms to ensure your safety. And while we put them in, it’s important to maintain smoke alarms regularly and check that they’re working.
A working smoke alarm is an inexpensive way of making sure that your cabin is safe and secure.
Power
All RoomMate Cabins come with an electrical warrant of fitness and are built with an outdoor power socket connected to the cabin.
We supply you with a lead that has a matching outdoor connection at one end and an RCD safety switch at the other. This RCD plugs into any ordinary 3-pin power socket in your house or garage.
Inside there are double power points allowing you to power up all the electrical items you might require.
